My friend and I accidentally got on the Verrazano bridge and ended up in Staten Island so we googled an Italian restaurant and this came up , so we went here, but without reading any reviews first. We went right into the restaurant from the parking lot without even knowing that there was another entrance into the pizza part of it. The place was beautiful, and the waitress was lovely and so friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. My friend ordered chicken cutlet parmesan, and I ordered eggplant rollatini. The portions were huge. The pictures posted are our leftovers. After leaving the restaurant, I decided to look at the reviews because I hadn't checked them when we found the restaurant. I noticed that people had written that they were never told that on Monday through Wednesday, there was a special for a buy one get one free entrée. We were never told that either. I called the restaurant and the manager was so nice and refunded one of the entrées back to my friend's credit card. He did say that only some items are on that special, but that ours were part of that special and that the portions are usually smaller and that one needs to ask the waitress for that special menu. I told the manager that there would be no way for anyone to know to ask the waitress for a special that we know nothing about. All and all, we enjoyed our unexpected night out in Staten Island very much.
I ordered 2 orders of baked clams. During the prep.,The person who shucked the clam also freed the "foot". So that after the clam was baked. You can just slurp it down. Perfectly cooked Clam.. I don't know why I was surprised I tasted wine. I've never had such good baked clams. Fresh not dry. I need to eat more here.
I have had this place a handful of times I would highly recommend trying the pizzas and pasta. It is very good for catering or just a nice family dinner.
The pizza was really good. One of the best I've had on the island. I just wish they delivered further out but it is worth the drive.
We had my daughter's bridal shower there. The food was amazing, and the service was A1. The staff went above and beyond. I can't say enough about Rob he was incredibly helpful. The ambiance was perfect.
Ordered thru DoorDash, pizza was still warm when it arrived but I wish they would have put some tape or something so that delivery drivers don't tamper with the food. We ordered the margarita pizza which was good the dough had a nice chewiness to it which I liked and there tomato sauce is on the tangy side. Also ordered the grandpa pie which is similar to L&B spumoni gardens pizza in Brooklyn. It's like a thick square pizza with the cheese on the bottom and the tomato sauce on top. It was ok, I'm not used to the tanginess of the sauce.
LOVE Mimmo's, safe to say it is easily one of the best pizzerias on the island. Everything is delicious and full of flavor from here. My personal favorite is the Philly cheese pinwheel. The staff is always super friendly, and the restaurant itself is clean and welcoming. Highly recommend paying a visit to Mimmo's!
